"It is even colder up close", Rashid concludes silently to himself and a quick glance to his right, where Itrav is facing off against another wraith, confirms that even the dark elf is shivering in the unnatural chill. From behind the fighting pair, Lan'Nuiatnal looses another arrow that zips past Itravs shoulder and strikes the wraith squarely in one of its large red eyes. The orb immediately closes and a dozen smaller ones open around the impact site, still trained on monk. Lashing out, the shade extends its arms, small flakes of snow materializing as it swipes through the air with its claws. Itrav gives a small snort of contempt as he weaves past the clumsy blow like a serpent, bringing his fists up from below. His elbow catches the wraith in the side of its head, while his second hand slams itself through the body of the creature, fingers -covered in black goop as cold as the grave- protruding a few inches out through the apparitions back. The wraith writhes and twists on his hand, dislodging itself and pulling back, large tar-like droplets falling on the white snow. The monster seems to collapse in on itself, the writing mass of darkness, eyes and sinewy bark falling, tumbling, twisting and growing smaller. It's form disappearing as if sucked through a vortex. And then it's gone. With only one wraith remaining in sight, Bnor launches his second axe towards the one fighting Rashid. The axe slices cleanly through the rake-thin arm of the wraith, severing it at the shoulder and covering the nearby area in more "blood". The wounded wraith seems to not even feel the loss of its limb as it lashes out with its claws -still in complete silence- and slashes Rashid across his chest. The scratch is superficial, but Rashid can feel his flesh harden and freeze under the touch of the monster, the strike seeming to amplify the already heavy feeling of his insides slowly turning to ice by the wraiths presence. Worse yet, the pain of the wound distracts the priest and both his retaliatory strikes go wide. Bnor watches with grim satisfaction as his axe brings black ruin to the creature. In the edge of his perception he can feel Lan'Nuiatnal moving towards Baelevdulvanna, saying something in urgent tones, Bnor is just about to ask her to translate when it becomes agonizingly obvious what the warning was. The already freezing temperature around Bnor drops suddenly further and long clawed arms seem to lash out from all directions. His leather armour protects him from the worst of the damage, but four long claws leave a nasty gash across his cheek. The wound instantly freezes, frost and ice leaving a burning sensation far greater than the pain of the trauma. The dwarf spins around and finds himself staring into the dozens upon dozens of eyes that comprise the bodies of another three wraiths, who snuck up on the group while they were focused on the ones assailing Itrav. Bael hastily helps Glorgar don his armour while keeping herself between the three new wraiths and the barber. In her hand Nyaleth chukles. "They don't bleed like they should. But they are still fun to hunt.", it whispers viciously in her mind. Beside her Glorgar, now fully armored in his padded tunic, gets to his feet and -from beneath his pillow- pulls out a pair of long shears that shine like polished sliver in the moonlight. Lan'Nuiatnal:Sorry if I attacked the wrong foe here. I wasn't sure which wraith you meant by the "...closest Wraith attempting to make an easy meal of the party". So if I was wrong I'm sorry, just roll with it AllI don't like to mix in mechanics too much in combat, but periodic information is vital so that you know when to flee, attack and heal. So just that you know: 1 Wraith attacking Rashid looks quite wounded (missing an arm...) 3 Unhurt wraiths attacking Bnor. (roughly 30 feet away from everyone, slightly less from Nu) Glorgar seems ready to join the fray. Bael gets the feeling that unless he is told to stay put, he will start doing some "heroics"
HP: Rashid: 19 Bael: 23 Nu: 20 Itrav: 9 Bnor: 21
So far you are mostly unhurt, though Itrav will be in trouble if this battle drags on for too long. The cold burning sensation inside all of you is not lessening. Especially not with the arrival of the three new wraiths.
