With the Captains careful guidance, the Oyster is pulled perpendicular to the docking ramp. A crew of men row out on rowboats and attach large ropes to various fastening points on the hull, and with a shout, men on the docks begin turning huge winches that begin to pull the boat up the ramp.
After a half hour of this slow inching and a sudden tip as the boat levels out on the rail, large loading docks are opened, dropping directly onto solid ground. The dock is literally teaming with people, horses, and carts, various ships being loaded and unloaded. Some of the ships are docked the same way as the Oyster, while other smaller vessels are merely tied off the old-fashion way.
Past the bustling crowd, you can see the buildings of Suzail and all their embellishments quite plainly. The eastern side of the city is noticeably less ornate compared to the rest, but even these buildings would happily pass as solid, well-built structures in any other city. Behind the buildings, barely visible, you note what looks like the peaks of a castle. Several purple colors towers stick up into view in a rather irregular pattern.
Onyx Dragon picks up the pack at his feet at slings a strap over his shoulder. Spoken with a plain tone, "See you at the tournament, Jade Canary." After a bit of a pause, "Tymora's luck," and he turns to walk down the plank onto the docks. Captain Grinal walks down from the mast and shouts off to Onyx, "Hope you enjoyed the voyage!" With a sigh, Grinal turns to you, "Man is certainly not one for formalities. Nevermind, though. I hope you enjoyed the voyage, Lady Jade. I can say with ease it was a pleasure to have you aboard." He smiles gently as you notice the third passengers begin to walk up behind him with a pack clearly loaded down with books.
